2007 Spring Meeting Friday Night Activities

Friday evening activities including the demo/sharing session, micro-workshop on animating Excel spreadsheets and measuring the ratio of specific heats of air.

FRIDAY EVENING

We will have our usual demo/sharing session at 8 PM Friday evening in Room BL-114. At 7 PM Friday evening there will be a micro-workshop on animating your Excel spreadsheets and other cool stuff (bring your laptop). This will be in room CL-117. (Get to both rooms entering near the water tower, don’t go up the stairs, but straight ahead, then take a right, and these rooms will be on your left as you are going North in the long corridor. Light refreshments will be available.

Would you like to measure to measure the ratio of specific heats of air using a 2-liter plastic pop bottle and a Vernier Gas Pressure Sensor? There’s a simple adapter you can make (instructions will be available) for the bottle cap to do this. Five ready-made plastic bottles and adapters will be given away to the first five folks to arrive and claim them, and we will do a demo using Vernier’s LabPro during the Friday evening sharing time.

In case you need just One More Reason to come to the 2007 Spring Meeting Friday night Festivities!

Mike Moloney is offering of the Rose-Hulman Oakley Observatory on Friday evening around 9 p.m., following the demo/sharing session.

Come and join us at Rose Hulman!
